Best of GateHouse 2008: Newspapers of the year, best sections named
The Repository (Canton, Ohio), The Independent (Massillon, Ohio) and the Downers Grove Reporter (Ill.) have been named Newspapers of the Year for the 2008 Best of GateHouse contest.
The University of Missouri judged the Newspapers of the Year competition and in addition to naming the best newspapers of the year, have also recognized the best sections (and coverage) of the year for all divisions. Sections and coverage were judged on overall writing, editing, photography, packaging and design.
The divisions were:
• Division A: Over 17,500 circulation
• Division B: Up to 17,500 circulation
• Division C: Non-daily

• Champion: The Repository (Ohio)
• Runner up: The Patriot Ledger (Mass.)
